Optomen is behind 60-minute BBC1 film CCHRISTINE MCGUINNESS: UNMASKING MY AUTISM in which McGuinness reveals how autism in women and girls has been ignored and misunderstood by science and society, meaning that thousands of women are living undiagnosed.
It follows Raw’s BBC1 doc Paddy and Christine McGuinness: Our Family and Autism, which informed 5m (22.7%) in November.
The film is being produced and directed by Imogen Wynell-Mayow (Rape: Who’s on Trial, Ambulance), and the exec producers for Optomen are Nick Hornby and Tina Flintoff. The commissioning editor is Emma Loach.
