Could giving primary school children jobs they’d never dream of change the way they see their futures?
In a dramatic social experiment, designed with leading experts in social mobility, three company bosses have taken an extraordinary leap of faith: to allow a group of 7-9 year old kids to join their business for a week in the hope that their brief experience of adulthood will open their eyes to careers many of them never knew existed.
Through the often very funny stories of the kids’ remarkable take overs we will see how in modern Britain, our children’s ideas of where they sit in the social pecking order are already beginning to be shaped by the age of seven, and how quickly these can be altered through their sudden entry into positions of real power and responsibility.
Will this brief experience of an aspirational career change the way the kids see themselves and their place in the social pecking order?
