Each week, we'll follow Bill as he goes on a gastronomic weekend break with a difference. Bill's recipes are quick and simple but are great for sociable occasions. They're always based on market freshness and always with an unexpected Bill twist. Wherever Bill goes he'll cook up great food, using produce sourced from the local area. And it's the sourcing of the food that will give the show its twist. To get the very best produce Bill will have to get his hands dirty - he might have to dig potatoes, fish for sardines or dive for scallops.
In each programme Bill will discover the beauty of the UK's countryside and coast, seeking out locations known only to an enlightened few. For example, having arrived at the Solent lighthouse with a group of friends the night before, Bill will rise early to visit the local market and port to seek out some fresh produce for his weekend dishes. He'll meet the local characters and join in the rough and tumble of a fishing trip before retiring to the pub for a pint of local ale. Then it's back to the lighthouse with his haul of meat and veg, local cider and a few tips on regional dishes garnered from the locals he's met.
We'll watch Bill and his friends enjoy good food, good company and see the sun set slowly as the guests make their way home. Then it's back home for Bill, ready to start the working week refreshed from his perfect weekend.
